About the project

The project is being implemented under the Erasmus+ programme, Action KA171-HED – Mobility of higher education students and staff supported by external policy funds. Its main objective is to develop and strengthen academic cooperation between the International Academy of Applied Sciences in Łomża (MANS) and partner universities in Ukraine.

The project responds to the need for further internationalisation of higher education and supports the integration of Ukrainian higher education institutions into the European education and research area. Student and staff mobility is intended to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, learning about new teaching and research methods, the development of professional and transversal competences, and the building of lasting relationships between the Polish and Ukrainian academic communities.

Another key element of the project is the promotion of the European Union’s shared values, including equality, non-discrimination, social inclusion, respect for human rights, solidarity and international cooperation. The project also takes into account sustainable development principles, the digital and green transitions, and the specific needs of people with fewer opportunities.

Project outcomes

The implementation of the project will contribute to:

• developing the professional, teaching and research competences of students and staff, as well as the transversal competences needed to work and study in an international environment;
• strengthening Polish-Ukrainian cooperation by developing direct contacts between students, staff and institutions;
• increasing the internationalisation of the partner universities and their capacity to carry out joint educational, academic and research initiatives;
• developing new research topics and platforms and preparing further international initiatives and projects;
• supporting the integration of Ukrainian higher education into the European education and research area;
• promoting European values, social inclusion, equal opportunities, intercultural cooperation and solidarity.

Planned mobility activities

In accordance with the National Agency’s decision, the project comprises:

• 2 mobility periods of 7 days each for MANS staff at Ukrainian higher education institutions,
• 1 mobility period of 7 days for a staff member from a Ukrainian higher education institution at MANS,
• 1 mobility period of 5 months for a student from a Ukrainian higher education institution at MANS.
