The graduates of the Nursing programme are prepared for independent professional practice and work in public and non-public health care institutions, including hospitals, basic health care institutions, nursing and care institutions, palliative and hospice care centres, and social care homes. In order to undertake work in education, graduates must specialise in teaching - in accordance with the standards of education preparing for the teaching profession. Graduates are prepared to undertake second cycle studies.
Studying at the Faculty of Medicine provides graduates with general knowledge in the field of medical sciences and specific knowledge in the field of nursing. Graduates will gain skills: to use current knowledge to ensure safety and a high level of care; to provide services in the field of promoting, preserving health, and preventing diseases; to take holistic and individual care of the sick, the disabled, and the dying; to communicate with the environment in the workplace; to organise their own work; to cooperate in health care teams and to initiate and support community actions for health.
